In November, the US military conducted up to 94 close in reconnaissance activities against China in the South China Sea.

According to comprehensive media reports, within just 12 hours on November 2nd, US military aircraft entered the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea of China. The French Air Force dispatched reconnaissance aircraft to conduct large-scale interrogation activities in the East China Sea.

The United States deployed WC-135W nuclear reconnaissance aircraft and E-8C reconnaissance aircraft, while France deployed the Falcon 20G reconnaissance aircraft. Such messages are widely spread on social platforms such as WeChat groups in China.

In fact, in recent years, the US military has strengthened its reconnaissance operations at China's doorstep, which is no longer a secret.

According to the "South China Sea Strategic Situation Awareness" think tank, in October alone, the US military dispatched a total of 54 reconnaissance aircraft to conduct close range reconnaissance of China in the South China Sea. Due to concerns about tropical cyclones (typhoons) in the northwest Pacific Ocean, this data has even decreased compared to the past.

On October 25th, the US Navy Pacific Fleet announced on its official website that the US and Japan's naval forces are conducting bilateral operations in the South China Sea, including flight missions, tactical coordination training between surface and air forces, sea refueling, and sea strikes. The participating forces include the US Navy's Carl Vinson aircraft carrier and the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force's Kaga helicopter carrier.

According to convention, whenever a US aircraft carrier operates in the South China Sea, the number of US reconnaissance flights to the South China Sea will also increase to support the carrier's activities.

Another focus of attention in this incident is that the US military deployed various models of aircraft, especially the rare WC-135W nuclear reconnaissance plane.

The South China Morning Post wrote on November 2nd that the US military operation may be related to the collision accident of the USS Connecticut nuclear submarine in the South China Sea recently. The deployment of WC-135W is to collect atmospheric samples for detecting and identifying potential residual radioactive debris.

According to the "Military" website (Miliraty. com), the WC-135C nuclear reconnaissance aircraft is equipped with advanced nuclear material detection equipment, which can collect radioactive particles in the atmosphere for identification and identification of evidence of other countries conducting nuclear weapons tests, and can also be used to track nuclear leaks. Therefore, it is also known as a nuclear test reconnaissance aircraft.
