The 6th generation fighter jet in Europe is the famous Storm fighter jet, and the radar engineer of this project said they hope to break the data processing record. This means that each radar can emit a separate beam, or use a separate antenna to emit a larger beam. The TRMs in the array are divided into several groups, and the signals received in each group are sent to the receiver. The receiver digitizes the data and then transmits it to the radar processor. Due to its size, the receiver must be placed backwards from the aircraft nose and receive incoming analog radar signals through coaxial cables, which can cause some data loss before the signals are digitized. To compensate for this, Leonardo is working on miniaturizing receivers so that they can be moved to the nose and integrated into the antenna, eliminating the need for coaxial cables. The data coming out of the receiver still needs to be transmitted to the processor, but now it is digital and can be transmitted along optical cables to reduce data loss.
