1、 Selection of Hall current sensor

2、 Sensor power supply voltage detection


After disconnecting the ignition switch, you can unplug the sensor wire connector plug and connect the positive and negative probes of the multimeter to terminals 1 and 3 of the connector, respectively. When the ignition switch is turned on, the voltage should be above 4.5V.


If the voltage is zero at this time, it indicates that there is a broken or short circuit in the wiring harness, or there is a malfunction in the ECU; After disconnecting the ignition switch, it is necessary to continue checking for any open or short circuits in the wiring.


3、 Detection of wire resistance:


When using a multimeter to check the resistance of a sensor, the resistance values between terminal 1 and terminal 62 of the ECU, terminal 2 of the sensor and terminal 76 of the ECU, and terminal 3 of the sensor and terminal 67 of the ECU should not exceed 1.5 Ω.


If the resistance is too high or infinite, it indicates poor contact in the wiring harness or a broken wire. In this case, the wiring harness should be repaired or replaced.


Use a multimeter to continue checking the resistance between terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the sensor connector, and also check the resistance between terminals 62, 76, and 67 of the ECU. The measured resistance should be infinite.


4、 The detection principle of Hall current sensor


The output of Hall devices and magnetic circuits has a good linear relationship, so the voltage signal U0 output by Hall devices can indirectly reflect the magnitude of the measured current I1, that is, I1 ∝ B1 ∝ U0.


When we calibrate U0 as when the measured current I1 is at the rated value and U0 is equal to 50mV or 100mV, we create a Hall direct detection (without amplification) current sensor.
